LOREN YAGODA

Having grown up surrounded by art in a family of collectors, designers and architects, Loren Yagoda is a ceramicist and painter whose artwork invites viewers into her world as she dances her emotions onto canvas. She firmly believes that everyone's environment can be enriched by two different types of artistry — expressive works that stimulate and explore and meditative works that unwind and clear the mind.

Stripes are a reoccurring theme in Yagoda’s work, appearing in everything that she does. The artist relaxes into a meditative state of drawing lines, sometimes deep into measuring heaven and other times going into an intuitive state. Her stripes range from crisp, precise lines to loose, free-form blends.

Yagoda received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Memphis College of Art. She is motivated by the thought that, like the bone structure of a skeleton, the construct of our character leaves footprints to those who have shared our time and space.

As such, the Phoenix-based artist — whose painting, sculpting and interior design span more than 30 years — aspires her art to represent those people and paths where secrets live untold. She hopes that her work reminds viewers of their own history and its importance in their existence.
